A few of the notes
of thanks received following The Capitol Reunion...
Just a note to tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed the
reunion. It was the first for us and it surely won't be the last.
We are looking forward to the next one.
I for one was overjoyed to see so many of my former
shipmates. My wife was very apprehensive in attending saying she
didn't know anyone, but she came home with many new friends.
Again, thank you for the wonderful job you and your
committee did.
......Arthur & Louise Paty
Started to send you an e-mail note a day, but decided that however
efficient it can be for many purposes, seemed too detached to convey
personal thanks for a wonderful evening. So if you can get through my
arthritic hybrid handwriting - this is as close as I can get to a warm
handshake.
In addition to the pleasure of meeting you, Dorothy and I very
much enjoyed meeting Shirley. What a wonderful disposition to
accompany and support a fireball like you.
As the Navy's "Infantry" and all-purpose arm -- Destroyer people are
special!
Thanks again
and God bless you.
......Bill (Brandel)
It was a deep
honor for me to speak to our shipmates and remains always "the frosting on
the cake" of my great Navy life in Destroyers -- the heart and soul of our
sea service. The happiness of serving our nation alongside stalwarts
like you, Joe, is unmatched in any other profession.

Stephen, Maria and myself would like to thank the both of
you for a wonderful time. The both of you put your hard work, time,
and mostly your hearts into the great time that we experienced in D.C.
Our son, Stephen, was and still is talking about his
experience of a life time for him to see and talk to his dad's old shipmates
and friends never to be forgotten and he is looking forward to our next
reunion.
Quite frankly, I would like to see the next reunion in 2002, not 03, no
matter where it's held.
......Manuel, Maria & Stephen Flores
Thanks for all
you do for the Manley crew. It is appreciated by all of us. I
can't imagine the work it takes to bring these reunions together. We
just hop on a plane and arrive to enjoy the few days we have with our Navy
friends. The wives hear the same stories, with a few more added on,
and laugh over and over for the four days and after each reunion. We
do enjoy it as much as the guys.
